Return to Squash & Racketball Wed 29th July

Hi Everyone,

We are pleased to announce that the squash/racketball courts will be re-opening from Wednesday 29th July 2020.

In order to do so safely, in line with England Squash guidance, we have developed a COVID-19 Secure Plan and completed a COVID-19 Risk Assessment both of which are attached for your information.

Please note that this represents a phased approach, and the success of the phased re-opening and return to play is reliant on all members reviewing, understanding and adhering the measures outlined within this plan and the associated risk assessment. As we are a members run club we are all responsible for ensuring the relevant safety measures within this COVID-19 Secure Plan are implemented. If you have any queries please speak to a committee a member or email the specific email address set up contained within the COVID-19 Secure Plan.

It is acknowledged that there are a number of measures and procedures that need to be implemented and they represent a substantial departure from the ways in which the club was being used prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will all need to work and learn together to ensure the successful re-opening of the club.

Please bear with us whilst we try to navigate the challenges of meeting our governing bodies guidelines at the same time as keeping our members happy with the reduced format of squash and racketball that has been placed upon us. Subject to UK government guidance and the relaxation of ES guidelines we are all hoping for a return to full competitive squash and racketball sooner rather than later. We will continue to update you as guidance changes over the coming weeks and months.

Initially courts will be open from midday until 8.30pm on a staggered basis. Please note that all courts will need to be booked online prior to arriving at the club – please do not turn up to play without booking in advance. The booking screen by court 5 will not be in use. Please also ensure that you include your opponent on the booking for track and trace purposes. Note that if you have not done so already you will need to accept the GDPR request before you appear as an opponent on the booking system.

We are in the process of setting up payment of lights via the court booking system so light cards will not be required - non-peak courts will cost £1.80 and peak courts will cost £3.60.

It is great that we can finally get back on court, remember everyone has a part to play, take it steady and enjoy being back on court!

Thanks

The Committee
