County Tennis update

Here is the latest edict from the County LTA:
Hi All
Apologies if you get this email more than once – I am working over several databases to get the message to you all.
Please see below the latest advice from the LTA, following yesterday’s Government update.
Basically they are suspending all organised LTA tennis activities including, tournaments, training, and meetings until Monday 23rd March and they will then review. Devon Tennis has decided to cancel the County NEXUS & Whirlwind Finals and in light of this latest advice suspending ALL County Tennis activities until further notice. Our feeling is that nothing positive is going to happen between now and Monday so our advice would be that everything is suspended until further notice which keeps this advice open-ended.
I have copied in representatives of the four main leagues in Devon as the LTA and indeed Devon Tennis’s advice would be for all league and county tournament activities to also be suspended until further notice. It will be he LTA’s decision to cancel the LTA Sanctioned tournaments which we suspect will follow shortly.
The government advice is stark, they are clearly recommending increased social distancing and advising people to stop all unnecessary traveling, and avoid pubs, clubs, theatres, and restaurants. They are not moving to close down these venues but they are hoping this will happen naturally.
I realise this will be very disappointing to many people but I feel we must be compliant to the Governments wishes and we demonstrate a community cohesion if this virus is to be beaten.
We will keep you all up to date with the latest advice and information. In the meantime if you would lake any additional information or you would like to discuss this situation please feel free to contact me by email – david@vinalls.co.uk or phone 07388 895111

Many Thanks

Keep Safe

Kind Regards – David Vinall

Chairman Devon Tennis and LTA Councillor
