Court Bookings now 20 Minutes

Hi

Following a recent survey the club has decided to change court booking duration to 20 minutes for both Squash and Tennis.

It was initially suggested that using these smaller blocks of time would give members the most flexibility to book courts according to how short or long they prefer to play. The current duration of 40 minutes (Squash) & 60 minutes (Tennis) led to incomplete matches without a reasonable option to extend play.

Please remember that for Squash and Tennis EVERY COURT MUST BE BOOKED ONLINE. This booking data is extremely important to court usage statistics used to make decisions about the club.

It is hoped that the changes will result in increased court usage, as well as addressing the sunset tracking issues we have had with the new system.

The court booking system has now been updated to reflect these changes and 20 minute sessions are effective from Monday 22nd August.

There are a couple of small changes to what you will see when booking a court;

- Firstly, the system will now allow you to multi select up to 3 consecutive sessions as part of the same booking, you will only pay once, and you will only need to select your opponent once - as current.

- Secondly, guest fees are slightly different - rather than a one off guest fee, they are now duration based. There are no new pricing levels, simply select "Tennis Guest" or "Squash Guest" from the list

Court prices will obviously look different on the booking sheets but HAVE NOT increased, Squash is now £1 per 20 minutes off peak, £2 per 20 minutes peak. Tennis is £0.67 per 20 minutes off peak, £1.34 peak.

We appreciate this will take some getting used to, but ultimately it will give all members the most flexibility to make full use of the courts - any questions please contact a member of the committee

Thank you
